Itinerary
Day 1Marrakech – Tizi n'Tichka – Ait Ben Haddou – Draa Valley+
Cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n'Tichka pass, explore the clay kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO), pass Ouarzazate and follow the palm groves of the Draa Valley to Tamnougalt. Night in a riad.
Day 2Zagora – Tamegroute – M'Hamid – Erg Chigaga+
Visit the green-glazed pottery workshops and old Koranic library of Tamegroute, reach M'Hamid where the road ends, then drive about 50 km off-road by 4x4 to the dunes. Dinner and music around the fire at camp.
Day 3Camel trek in the Erg Chigaga dunes+
Morning dromedary trek across the dunes with a nomad cameleer, picnic lunch in the shade of tamarisk trees, back to camp for sunset from the highest dune.
Day 4A free day at the desert camp+
Sandboarding, dune walks, tea with the camp team and a quiet evening under the stars. A day to slow down.
Day 5Iriki Lake – Fossil hills – Tazenakht – Marrakech+
Cross the dry Iriki lake bed on the old rally track, stop at the fossil hills, then Tazenakht, known for its Berber carpets, before the drive back over the Atlas to Marrakech.
